1. About this policy
Freeform Lighting LLC (“Freeform Lighting,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates this website. This policy explains how we collect, use, and share personal information when you visit our website, contact us, or work with us. It also explains your choices and how to contact us about your information.
Where data-protection law uses the term “controller,” Freeform Lighting LLC is the controller of the personal information described in this policy.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
We collect the information you choose to give us through our website forms, by email, or in other correspondence. Depending on your request, this may include
- contact details (such as your name, email address, and phone number),
- professional details (such as your company and role),
- project details (such as location, product interests, drawings, images, and notes),
- and your communication preferences.
We may keep records of our correspondence, quotes, orders, and communication preferences.
Please share only information that is relevant to your request and that you are authorized to share.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the website, we and our service providers may automatically process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, referring page, requested pages, and access times. Additional information may be processed when embedded content from third parties is loaded.
3. How we use information
We use contact and project information to respond to inquiries, provide quotes, coordinate the work you request, fulfill orders, and communicate with you about them. With your permission, we also use it to send email updates about our work.
We also use information to operate, maintain, and improve the website, including understanding how it is used; to protect against spam and misuse; and to comply with legal obligations and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Contacting us does not automatically subscribe you to marketing emails.
4. Service providers and other disclosures
We share information with service providers that help us run our business, such as providers of website hosting, form processing, data storage, customer management, email delivery, analytics, and embedded content. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
We may also share information with contractors, representatives, and business partners who help us respond to your request or carry out your project, and with people you ask us to involve, such as your designer, architect, or contractor.
We may disclose information when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, to protect against fraud or unlawful activity, or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. If our business is reorganized, sold, or merged, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to other businesses for their own marketing.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We and our service providers may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the website, remember your preferences, understand how visitors use the site, and keep it secure.
Some features, such as embedded publications, are provided by third parties. When these features load, their providers may collect technical information and use their own cookies under their own privacy policies. Websites we link to are also governed by their own policies.
Where the law requires your consent for certain technologies, we will ask for it first. You can also manage or delete cookies through your browser settings, although blocking some cookies may affect how the website works.
6. Newsletter and email preferences
If you choose to receive our newsletter, we use your information to send news about our work and collections. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email or by contacting studio@freeformlighting.com. We may keep a record of your request so that we do not email you again. Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not stop messages about an inquiry, project, quote, or order you have with us.
Our email provider may tell us whether our messages are delivered, opened, or clicked.
7. Payments
We do not ask for payment-card or bank-account details through website forms. When you pay us, your payment is processed by a third-party payment provider under its own terms and privacy policy.
8. Legal bases for processing
Where European Union or United Kingdom data-protection law applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
Contract. To take steps you request before entering into a contract with us, such as preparing a quote, or to carry out a contract with you.
Legitimate interests. To respond to inquiries, run and secure our business and website, and protect our legal rights, where these interests are not overridden by your rights.
Consent. For marketing emails and for cookies that require consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
Legal obligation. Where we need to process information to comply with the law.
9. How long we keep information
We retain personal information as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including to meet legal, accounting, and recordkeeping requirements. How long we keep it depends on the type of information, whether our relationship with you is ongoing, and our legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or remove identifying details; copies in backups are deleted on their normal schedule.
10. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information and limit access to people and service providers who need it for their work. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe information you shared with us has been compromised, please contact studio@freeformlighting.com.
11. International processing
Freeform Lighting is based in the United States. Your information may be processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live. Where the law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
12. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; to withdraw consent; and to opt out of certain uses, such as targeted advertising or the sale of personal information. You can always ask us to stop sending you marketing emails.
To make a request, email studio@freeformlighting.com or write to the address below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and an authorized agent may make a request on your behalf where the law allows. We will respond within the time required by law. If we decline your request, you may appeal by emailing us with “Privacy Appeal” in the subject line. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
You also have the right to complain to a data-protection authority, such as the authority in your EU member state or the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. Where required by law, we honor browser opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control.
13. Children’s privacy
Our website and services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the website. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact studio@freeformlighting.com and we will take appropriate steps, including deletion where required.
14. Updates to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the date above. If we make material changes, we will provide additional notice where required by law.
